Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH) is delighted to mark its 1,000th new build home completion, just in time for Christmas.
LMH launched its ambitious developments programme in 2013, focusing on the delivery of high-specification homes for affordable rent and future home ownership – homes designed to tackle the local housing crisis head on.
The landmark home is part of the Warwick Street development in south Liverpool. The scheme comprises 29 two bed affordable rent family homes which have been completed over four phases. The final phase includes LMH’s 1000th home.
Steve Coffey, Chief Executive at LMH said: “We’re really proud to deliver our 1000th home for Liverpool City Region. These homes highlight LMH’s commitment to providing a positive living experience for growing families.”
That commitment is set to grow further in 2019 following the proposed amalgamation of LMH and North West housing provider Torus early in the New Year, with more than 5,000 new homes planned for local communities by 2023.
Steve continues, “LMH has become synonymous with delivering much needed quality housing and the future holds many opportunities to develop our offer with a shared ambition. By joining forces with Torus we can achieve more locally and throughout the North West.”
Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson joined LMH at Warwick Street to mark the occasion: “The completion of LMH’s 1000th new build home is testament to our long-standing partnership, an important development for the city and a significant achievement providing housing for those who need it most.”
Deputy Mayor of Liverpool & Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Lynnie Hinnigan also attended the development: “These homes are a boost for Liverpool 8, a significant regeneration area. I’m delighted to see the 1000th LMH home completed; it is part of the long-term positive future for this area.”
Mark Jackson, Commercial Manager at The Flanagan Group added: “We’re extremely proud to have worked with LMH in delivering new high-quality homes in our local community and it has been tremendously fulfilling to see the houses occupied by LMH’s residents. We look forward to delivering more homes in the future.”
Local tenants were keen to take part in the celebration and commented: “I love the house. It’s been built beautifully and to a high standard.” Another tenant said: ““It’s our first home. I wanted a new build and this is a dream come true. All the neighbours are lovely and my son loves the garden!” All homes at the development were reserved prior to completion.
Further information about LMH’s amalgamation with Torus will be released in the New Year.
