Over the summer, teams from across Torus, HMS have joined our charitable arm, Torus Foundation on 14 Environmental Impact Days in the heart of our communities.
The events, which took place in Torus Neighbourhoods, delivered messages of support, made improvements to outdoor spaces, provided skips for rubbish and provided an opportunity for face-to-face customer engagement while collecting feedback and queries from local residents.
From the 14 Environmental Impact days held so far, the with teams achieved the following for communities:
- Over 2,500 Torus homes have been reached with messages of support from landlord services and Torus Foundation.
- Around 40 gardens and many communal greenspaces tided by the HMS Kickstart Green Space Team.
- 73 skips have been filled to the brim.
- Over 584 tonnes of waste collected to help improve Torus Neighbourhoods.
Jan Calland, Torus Regional Director, said:
“We want our neighbourhoods to be safe, thriving places, a community that people are proud to call home. By commissioning Torus Foundation to organise the Environmental Impact Days and with Covid restrictions eased we were keen to get back out into our communities, talk to residents face-to-face and most importantly reassure them that we are still here for them.
“It was wonderful to see our Tenant Voice team spreading the word about how customers can get involved, our Neighbourhoods and Safer Estates Teams discussing local issues with residents and our colleagues from Torus Foundation promoting the wide range of support available to tenants and residents.
“The key to growing strong communities is building successful working relationships with both the people who live in them and our local partners. We were grateful for the support on the days from the Police, Fire Service, local authorities and our contract partners, HMS who were extremely busy taking on the environmental works, removing tonnes of rubbish and tidying green spaces.
“We are looking forward to the next round of events which hopefully we will be able to engage with more customers.”
Future impact days are being organised across the heartlands, so if you see us, come over and say hello.
