The party at Ellerbrook in Ormskirk, which has been delayed due to the pandemic, was funded by ‘The Residents Committee’ and saw 26 residents and their guests getting together to enjoy an afternoon of celebrations.
Entertainment was provided by Gerry, a friend or a resident and resident, Betty, who sang and danced their way through the afternoon, encouraging others to join in.
Partygoers Brook, Edna (85), said: “It was lovely, I am happy to be back with my friends.”
Keith (75), added: “Moving here six years ago was the best thing I have ever done, I now have lots of company and many good friends.”

The party, which was originally planned to be outside, using the recently purchased new garden furniture from a grant the residents applied for through Torus Foundation, was moved inside due to the weather, but residents are looking forward to putting it to good use in the future.
Scheme Manager, Julie Yates, said:
“It’s been a hard time for residents, the pandemic has meant a lot of people have felt isolated and frightened. Fortunately, during the lockdowns, we were made key workers and remained on-site to keep residents safe and keep up spirits.
“It was lovely for them to have something to plan, look forward to and most of all have a fantastic time, together and with their families.
“We are looking forward to lots more activities with Torus Foundation and fun times as things start to return to normal.”
