Torus mobilises first Fazakerley site with Brack Construction Ltd.

22 May 2023

Committed to expanding its development footprint across the North West and working with new partners to bring more affordable housing options to communities, Torus Developments and Brack Construction Ltd. have broken ground on new Fazakerley scheme at Longmoor Lane.

Investing £5 million into building 26 new apartments and five houses – all of which will be available through Rent to Buy – Longmoor Lane will completely transform the site, which until recently was home to the Fazakerley Car and Scooter Centre prior it’s move to new premises.

Torus Developments’ first New Build scheme in Fazakerley, Longmoor Lane is its latest development in North Liverpool, highlighting its ongoing investment in the area. Committed to investing long term in the area, Longmoor Lane follows on from a number of notable schemes and bolsters the £70 million Torus Developments has already invested in North Liverpool further.

Discussing the scheme, Torus Developments Managing Director, Chris Bowen, said:

“We’re thrilled to be working with Brack and to launch our partnership with a scheme like Longmoor Lane, which will go onto provide a number of affordable homes in a central location a stone's throw away from key amenities.

“As an organisation, we are working through a programme of building over 500 new homes in North Liverpool and Longmoor Lane is the latest in a long line of pipeline developments we are working to confirm and mobilise. Over the coming five years, we will be investing over £1 billion into building new homes across the North West and North Liverpool is a key focus area for us. Working in conjunction with partners, the Local Authority and other stakeholders, we will develop our offering in the area to create homes local communities can be proud of.”

Working with Brack Construction Ltd. for the first time, works started on site in March 2023 with plans for the development to be complete by Summer 2024.

Edward Brack, Director at Brack Construction Ltd, said:

“Brack Construction have completed over 100 units inhouse, but this is the first venture with Torus and hopefully one of many. We are excited to have commenced works on site, and we look forward to delivering much needed housing in the area.”
